There hasn't been much activity in this thread lately, but I'll go ahead and say that whoever wins the Spurs/Thunder game tonight is gonna win the series (and I'm leaning towards the Thunder, as they seem to have hit their stride and have the Spurs figured out). Either way, this series has been much more what I expected after the Game 1 blowout victory by the Spurs.

Yep, not shocked at all the Thunder won tonight. They'll take Game 6 at home on Thursday and even though I'm bummed about my Spurs completely blowing the series, Golden State/OKC should be a hell of a lot of fun.

With Timmy looking done, I think OKC has a better chance against the Dubs.

Also...Curry being the first unanimous MVP feels wrong. One, because Shaq SHOULD have been, and 2nd LeBron is still freaking LeBron. Him getting zero 1st place votes seems shocking.

Miami is down 3-2 against the Raptors, yet does anybody think there's any fucking way the Heat lose the series?

Also, back in Homerland, Scott Skiles resigned as head coach of the Magic, even though they showed some big improvements this season. He was always kind of a turd, even though I loved the way he played back in the day.

The Heat should have all ready been eliminated. So yeah, I expect the Heat to lose the series.

Well, I was almost right. I thought for sure after Game 6 that the Heat were a lock to win Game 7. And then Toronto ran them out of their own building. That's pretty surprising, but I don't think anyone is clamoring for a Cavs-Raptors series.

I'm really excited for this Thunder-Warriors series. Let's be clear - Golden State WILL win - but it will be very entertaining.

The 6ix and Drake would disagree with you.

Do I think the Raps will win? Not without JV. But if DDR stops with the Kobe-ball, the series will be tighter than most would expect.

Subplot for Cavs...will LBJ have to guard Lowry?

Mind-boggling stat: the Warriors and Spurs were a combined 79-3 at home during the regular season. In the playoffs, the Warriors and Spurs are a combined 1-3 at home against the Thunder.

That means the Thunder have won just as many road games at Golden State/San Antonio in four games as THE ENTIRE FUCKING NBA DID IN 82 GAMES. Crazy stuff.

Well the series is guaranteed to go 6. Have yet to see a complete game from the Raps, or Lowry and DDR going to the line in drives. Think Cavs have another gear and offence, but on def nose they have to hope the Raptors just miss shots.

If Carrol starts hitting his open shots, may need to remove the tinfoil.

Extra prediction: if either Toronto or Oklahoma City win their series, you'll see some Kings/Lakers 2002 shit go down in the other series to make sure an OKC/Toronto finals doesn't happen.

I'm not sure it'll ever be the bad. For one...Toronto's playoff run is evidence how some teams just don't get as many calls. The refs have a system where its mostly hard to see the screws being tightened extra hard. It doesn't mean it doesn't happen (no fouls through 2-plus quarters when you are owning the glass and paint? Please..) but never Kings/Lakers or Mavs/Heat levels.

But the biggest reason? Elite teams now thrive off of pace and space (Raps lack of this really killed them against the Cavs). A few bad calls is all it takes for Cleveland, OKC, or the Warriors to get a dunk or two, hit a 3 or five and ride momentum. The Warriors are historically good when things are flowing...and merely very good (aka Raptor levels) when things are not.

Win or lose though...the Dubs are not the best team to ever playin the NBA. A certain team featuring the star of Space Jam is.

That's right...Toon Squad for life y'all!

So not only does chOKeCity choke up the most (or tied for most) 4th Quarter leads in the NBA's regular season. They get a 3-1 lead in a best of 7 series, and then choke THAT away. is what I would say, if I weren't supporting the WARRIORS in their playoff endeavours. (Now that the Raptors have been future-endeavoured, that is. )

As it is, I'm more like It's been a good night for laughing, between genuinely funny moments on Raw & Thunder schadenfreude.

Draymond Green might be the dirtiest player this decade. Worse still, the NBA doesn't seem to care.

And yet Biz may get a suspension for a Kevn Love flop.

Yeah, that was the least malicious elbow in that game. He was going up with a basketball move and Love's jaw was just there. Call a foul I guess? But a flagrant? And his last flagrant to get a suspension?

So what are everyone's predictions for the finals? I'm going with Warriors in six, just like last year.

I want the Cavs to win (although fuck Dan Gilbert and Mo Wiliams) but if I had to bet, I'd put my money on the Warriors (but fuck Draymond Green). I could nitpick a lot of the Warriors players/personal but whatevs. I'd want to say in six, too, but I dunno. The longer it goes, the more of a chance for Curry to get hurt again (although we won't hear about it unless they lose games or the series) and there'll be more of a chance for the NBA to actually suspend Green if he keeps fucking around. I mean, it's one thing to do it to Steven Adams a few times but if he sucker kicks Lebron in the googlies, the NBA will have to take action, right? Plus, he needs one more flagrant and two more techs (I think) to get suspended anyway. All that aside, the Warriors are just too deep but at the end of the day, it's all about Klay and Curry going off.

Cavs in 7, partly for shits and giggles, partly so Cleveland can get their championship, and partly because Love and Irving weren't there last year.

There's still over ten minutes left in the game, but I think I might want to revise my pick from Warriors in six to Warriors in five. The Cavs are like the Warrior's anti-kryptonite; they play their best ball against them and any sloppy play and bad shooting that happened against OKC ain't gonna happen against Cleveland.

The Warriors just get on these crazy runs. The past three games I've watched, they've won the game in the last two minutes of the third quarter with some ridiculous shooting. Other teams have to play perfect to have a chance.
