I never thought Green Bay would shit the bed like that. I'm actually starting to kind of believe in Denver, which means I'll be thoroughly disappointed come December. Oh well.

I'll say this about my Bengals - they played like shit, by far the worst they've played this season, and somehow they still won. In Pittsburgh, no less. So, that's heartening. I mean, I still fully expect to be laying on the floor crying sometime mid-January, but, hey, at least the highs are high to make the low worth it.

Yeah, the Patriots are gonna murder us in the playoffs. God dammit.

Bengals play left a lot to be desired. However, they went into Pittsburgh, as the underdog no less, and came out with a victory. 7-0. Best start in franchise history. Pretty damn good.

However and as you say, Patriots are gonna kill 'em.

Aaaaaaand my Carolina Panthers are 8-0. Despite our best effort to piss away a big lead for the second week in a row, we managed to hang on against the Packers today. But considering I would have had us penciled in at about 3-5 at this point in the season (especially having to play Seattle, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, and Green Bay all in a row), I'll take it.

Only would the 10-0 Carolina Panthers be a two point underdog against the 3-7 Cowboys, but hey...11-0, happy Thanksgiving bitches!

The Broncos/Pats game last night was one of the best I've seen this year. I have no delusions (the Pats were missing many players, and Gronk got hurt), but it was still a damned fine performance by the Broncos. Osweiler's looking pretty good after two games - I hope it's not a fluke.

Bullet=dodged. For a second, I thought that the Giants were going to do that thing they usually do where they only win games that ruin potential records and other stuff, but thankfully they still have no defense, so Carolina remains undefeated with two games left. At this point, with pretty much every team in the NFL that isn't the Cardinals, and maybe the Patriots if they decide to start playing football again, being somewhere between awful and average, my entire interest in this season rides on the Panthers going 16-0 and then also winning the Super Bowl.

Dude, I'd be ecstatic to finish 12-4. We're just as likely to end up 6-10.

Called it. Though uh, I guess you should probably hope that the second part of my prediction doesn't come true.

EDIT: Just to add that my Panthers reward for finishing 15-1 and the top seed in the NFC is likely getting to host the Seahawks in two weeks, whereas the Cardinals get to host either Green Bay or Washington. Somehow that doesn't seem right.

Since my Giants are out, and probably looking for a coach, let me drown my sorrows with playoff predictions:

Wild Card
AFC:
KC over Houston
Pitt over Cincinnati
(wow two road teams....)

NFC:
Seattle over Minnesota
Washington over Green Bay
(I had to pick at least one home team)

Divisional
AFC:
Denver over Pitt
New England over KC

NFC:
Carolina over Seattle
Arizona over Washington

Conference:
AFC:
New England over Denver

NFC:
Arizona over Carolina

SB 50:
New England over Arizona

Nice one. The Broncos can beat anybody, but can lose to anybody. I have less confidence against the Chiefs and Steelers than anyone else in the conference, though.

Then there's the Packers....what the hell happened there?

I'm rooting for the Panthers, actually. I really like Cam Newton and I hate the Seahawks, but I wouldn't mind Carson Palmer doing well either.

Ugh, what a shit season for the Chargers. Last night's game is indicative of most of our losses this year - so close yet so far. 5 turnovers and we lost? Just like against the Packers - Rivers throws for 500 yards and we lost? Ugh. And then of course, that San Diego may not even have an NFL team next season. Uuuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhh.

PLAYOFFS? We're talking about playoffs?

official prediction

Wild Card
AFC:
Kansas City over Houston
Cincinnati over Pittsburgh

NFC:
Seattle over Minnesota
Green Bay over Washington

Divisional
AFC:
Kansas City over Denver
New England over Cincinnati

NFC:
Carolina over Seattle***
Arizona over Green Bay

Conference:
AFC:
New England over Kansas City

NFC:
Carolina over Arizona

SB 50:
Carolina Panthers over New England Patriots

*** that matchup is the biggest tossup in my predictions. For fun, I present
scenario 2:

Divisional:
AFC:
Kansas City over Denver
New England over Cincinnati

NFC:
Seattle over Carolina
Arizona over Green Bay

Conference:
AFC:
New England over Kansas City

NFC:
Seattle over Arizona

SB 50:
Seattle over New England - This time, they hand it off to Lynch to win.

In no particular order: no O-Line, no Jordy Nelson, and no limit on Rodgers running and safely sliding into Olivia Munn's sweet pussy. As the Packers are a Jordy Nelson based offense, not having him around or an O-Line to hold back opposing D-Lines unconcerned about any deep threat, A.A. Ron did Packer Nation no favors by drowning his sorrows in Psylocke's asstral plane.

No real head-to-head picks or knowledge aboot playoff teams this year as I kinda bailed once the Dolphins and Packers went relatively tits up. Don't think the Packers got the juice (well, got too much in Rodgers case, I guess) this year so I think they'll blow it in D.C. Or at least I hope they do. Go home, get healthy, eat some brats, try agayn next year. Besides, Kirk Cousins seems like a nice story and it would be cool for an asshole like me to hear the PC brigade squirm the further the Redskins went into the playoffs. And you're welcome rest of the NFL because that notorious piece of shit Suh almost broke Brady in half during the Dolphins/Pats game the other day, so use that to your advantage please.

For some reason, I've liked the Bungles since 6th grade when they went to the Super Bowl and I learned how to do the Icky Shuffle and the lovely people of Ohio need something to cheer for and distract them from the reality of living in a shithole dirtpit like Ohio, so Go Cincy, I guess?

Anyone But The Patriots, please.

NFC:

Seahawks over Vikings

The Vikings are a good story but let's be serious here. The Seahawks seem like they're back to their old form, and I'll take Russell Wilson in the playoffs over just about anyone. One thing: It's going to be really fucking cold, and Seattle may not be used to it.

Redskins over Packers.

The Packers are lucky to even be here and probably wish they weren't. They're probably the worst team in the bracket right now, Rodgers is beat up and dejected, and the rest of the team is garbage. Never thought I'd see the headline "Cousins beats Rodgers", but here we are.

Seahawks over Panthers

I love me some Cam Newton, but the rest of that offense is so-so. I don't think its the Panthers' true time yet, and Seattle has so much more experience. That defense will be out for blood.

Cardinals over Redskins

The bye week will really help Arizona get over that final game of the regular season. I also never thought I'd say Carson Palmer is a tougher out than Aaron Rodgers, but here we are. I don't see the Redskins winning on the road.

Cards over Seahawks

This is going to be a great game, and I think Arizona has the firepower to keep up with the Seahawks. It'll probably come down to a late turnover or personal foul, but Arizona squeaks by.

AFC:

Bengals over Steelers

This is my upset. Not that I trust Andy Dalton or AJ McCarron, but Marvin Lewis is long overdue for some good karma. It'll be a close game.

Chiefs over Texans

Chiefs win easily. The Texans are playing well, but the Chiefs just look really damned tough.

Broncos over Chiefs

Bet on it. The Broncos are not the same team that got blown out earlier in the season - they found their running game, that D will be hungry, and Peyton will play well enough in his last postseason. The Chiefs look great, but Alex Smith under pressure is not a good thing.

Pats over Bengals

And here's where the karma ends. No way in hell Cincinnati goes to Foxboro and wins a playoff road game. The Pats will be healthy and ready.

Broncos over Pats

Very tough for me to call, but I think New England's lack of a running game and so-so defense will come home to roost here.

Super Bowl 50:

Cardinals over Broncos

Peyton will play much better than he did against the Seahawks, but I think the Broncos' inconsistency will pop up against a team they know little about.

If there are any Bengals fans here at OO, I'd like to institute a mandatory 24 hour suicide watch. I didn't have a dog in the fight but even I felt depressed after watching them completely self-destruct and hand that game to the Steelers.

Patriots/Chiefs and Broncos/Steelers should be pretty sweet though.

Who's on watch for me?

30 fucking yards of personal foul penalty yards on one snap. Fuck.

EDIT: Just to be clear, im not bitching about the calls. 2 stupid-ass thugs doing stupid-ass thug shit. Seriously. And if you asked anybody, "Who would be the most likely player on the Bengals to say or do something so completely stupid that resulted in a penalty that probably cost them a game," I'd bet 95% would immediately say 'Adam Pac-man Jones'. And they'd be right.

I'm surprised there weren't two targeting penalties and ejections in that game, one on the Steelers that resulted in a Bengals fumble (not even a penalty....)and one on the Bengals as the first personal foul call (but no ejection).

I'm no expert on NFL rules (though at this point, who the fuck knows what the rules are in the NFL), but it seems like Gruden and Tirico were in agreement that it wasn't an illegal hit. It did look nasty though.

Either way, what a bizarre, ugly game that the Bengals had zero business losing after that last interception.

Burfict too. You watch a lot of Pac 10/12 ball as I do, so you know how much of a fucking troublemaker that guy has been since AZ State. It never fails to amaze me how often these idiots can't keep themselves in check. Especially during the final minute of a playoff game! Completely pathetic the way those two guys cost Cincinnati a huge win. Honestly, I have no clue how their teammates refrain from beating them half to death in the locker room after the game.

Is everyone mad here?

He...he caught it with his asshole. It literally took balls to catch it like that. Golly!

That was as fucking savage an NFL game that I've seen in ages. Those hits are gonna leave some of those guys involuntarily souping their trousers when they reach their 40's.
