I kinda feel bad for the guy (well, as bad as you could feel for a guy who cheated on his wife multiple times). He's playing a sport that
contains just enough physical movement to be considered a sport, gets in his wreck, is overly sympathized with during said wreck, has it dug into a
little deeper to find out he cheated, and all of a sudden everyone's treating him like he murdered a bunch of dogs and tried to cover up a
dog-fighting ring.
He may be a no-good cheat, but he's getting a little rougher than maybe he deserves.

He's definitely getting it rough. What he did was shit and douche-worthy, but it's really between him and his wife (and I guess a bunch
of other women, too). Now every hypocrite golf commentator feels they have carte blanche to lecture him like a little kid every time he makes a
mistake. I'd pay to see Tiger Woods punch Jim Nantz in the face. Actually, I'd pay to see anybody punch Jim Nantz in the face.
And the smug Master's director saying "our hero let us down?" Fuck that guy right in his ear. He runs a golf course that barely tolerates
blacks (and only because of Tiger) and, to my knowledge, still doesn't admit women. These people have no room to take the moral ground.

Augusta National has been "tolerating" blacks since 1975 when Lee Elder qualified for the tournament. They've also been "tolerating" blacks
since 1990 when they finally offered membership to a black individual. It's not only because of Tiger.
I'm not saying there isn't a significant undercurrent of racism within the club. I'm just saying it isn't as cut and dry as
one might think. As more blacks become more successful (i.e., rich), there will be more offers for membership. Same thing will happen for women.
Augusta requires two things for membership:
1) Wealth
2) Love of golf
Also, once some of these old coots finally die off you might see a more diverse membership at Augusta. Rich white guys seem to linger on this planet
forever. Seriously, go check out the member list published back in 2002 (I believe). The YOUNGEST guy was 39. Average age at that club has to be
60+.
Tiger is NOT getting it rough. Seriously, if Jim Nantz verbally reprimanding him for saying naughty words is "getting it rough," then sign me the
fuck up for that kind of punishment. The reason why people are giving him shit about his language and temper is because he specifically said he
recognized it to be an issue and he planned to make changes. He lasted what, 45 holes or so?
He's also getting a ton of shit because his behavior suggests he hasn't learned a damn thing. His first tourney back and they're
discussing this Nike commercial:
Really? What does this have to do with Nike? No one's supposed to discuss any of this nonsense with the affairs, yet he OK's a
commercial referencing (without mentioning of course) learning from his "mistakes."
Like it or not, Tiger's image was that of a superhero. Kids want to be him. Parents wanted their kids to be like him. Is it anyone's
business who he fucks? Of course not. But Pandora's Box is open now, so it's all out there to be scrutinized. Aside from cheating on
his wife, he also:
1) Lied repeatedly about it
2) Had unprotected sex with God knows how many women
3) Had sex with his wife knowing full well he'd also had unprotected sex with God knows how many women, potentially putting her at risk (along
with their yet-to-be-conceived children)
Maybe I'm wrong about everything, but I find it really hard to feel bad for him in any way. I feel horribly for his family, none of whom
deserved any of this, but I feel nothing of the sort for him.
Getting it rough is his wife being stuck with paparazzi constantly following her every move, invading her privacy when it's nobody's
fucking business. Having Jim Nantz and every other broadcaster chastise you for swearing, in my mind, is the opposite of getting it rough.

Most of what you're saying is true, but a lot of this venting from commentators is the pot calling the kettle black. Jim Nantz cheated on HIS
wife and is in the middle of a messy divorce, yet he feels the need to call out Tiger for saying 'goddamn' on TV? Most of the people on
TV who are piling on Tiger are just as big of adulterers and scumbags as he is. Honestly, their hypocrisy pisses me off more than what Tiger did.
He didn't let me down -- he just did what many other famous people do by letting his ego and cock rule his life. Maybe it's disgusting
and he certainly put his family in a horrible position, but he's not the only one, and these people are acting like he is. That's
what's making me angry. Your anger towards him seems much more reasonable and fair than theirs.
I would say that Tiger has much more to do with Augusta National's gradual integration than not. His appeal to inner-city kids is undeniable,
and his success can only be forcing their hand. The 1990 inclusion was not voluntary; the club only relented because of outside pressure. Sorry,
but to me that's not progress. There are plenty of women who have money and love golf right now that would be honored to be part of the club --
and currently aren't. My point was that the place has a very poor track record with integration.
I totally agree with you about the Nike commercial. I have no idea what the hell he was thinking with that.

Yeah, Tiger is getting more shit than he deserves. This whole outcry about the media and the public DESERVING an apology was total bullshit. Tiger
doesn't owe me a damn thing. What happened was between he and his wife, and I really couldn't care less abut the details.
As far as him cursing on the course, anyone giving him shit for that needs to shut up too. He said he was going to TRY and curb his temper and
language. He tried, he failed, he will no doubt try again. It is not just a switch that you can always turn off and on, sometimes it takes a little
practice.

Yeah, it's nobody's business. But it was also a public deconstruction of a guy who got made into a living legend and clearly didn't
deserve to be. I'll put it down as just another egregious example of sports and sports journalism making a saint and a hero out of another clown
whose only real purpose in life is to smack a golf ball around better than anyone else does. Despite the imagery to the contrary that the media and
the golf money-machine kept pushing, Woods turned out to be as far away from being a postive role model as anyone ever could be.
I suppose that I'm a little more sensitive to this subject because my family's had issues where we'd gotten fucked over royally by
the damage adulterers and cheaters can cause. Clearly, my sympathies are going to be with Elin and the kids and Woods, who I already hated before all
this broke out, really just gave me more reasons to hate him even more. My only question that I'd have for Woods and his lickspittles is, if the
guy was such a party animal cooze-hound in the first place, why'd he even bother to get married at all. If the prick had stayed single and done
all this stuff there wouldn't have been any media firestorm at all.

I read a magazine article recently about the semi-prostitutes who work in clubs as bottle girls. Maybe Tiger started clubbing with some of his celeb
pals and got drawn into the lifestyle. I haven't read about him doing this stuff before he got married. I also read somewhere he may have
pursued a new thrill when he was laid up with an injury and was away from golf for a long period for the first time in his life.
Cursing's part of the game but the pros are expected to keep a lid on it, especially on TV.
I agree that the real issue is a talented athlete being built up as a role model and symbol of integrity because of physical skills. In real life we
all know jerks who are good at their jobs and good people who have crappy jobs, but the sports/media/advertising industries want us to think the stars
have halos.

The Tiger Woods Sniper Game
It's Masters time, so I thought it might be prudent to resurrect the Tiger thread.
I saw this on another website -- your task is protect Tiger from all the hecklers and 'bitches' on the golf course. It's good for a
quick laugh, at least. Slightly NSFW, btw.
Also, he has no chance of winning this tournament.

I've never been a fan of Tiger Woods. I'd say it's because, generally speaking, I don't go for dominant wunderkinds. I also
always found his do-gooder character to be so over the top that it was repulsive. Over the last year, I've warmed up to him because he's
now the underdog and he seems more human to me. I also hate all of the conservative moralists in the American media that felt it was necessary to rip
him a new one. For those reasons, I'd like nothing more than for Tiger to start fucking all of the women he can get his hands on and then gooing
out there and winning the Masters, on his way to reclaiming the title of the #1 golfer in the world. I guess, what I'm saying is, I want him to
go heel - but I want him to become that heel that is awesome and knows it and acknowledges that he does shit that people will hate him for but, guess
what, he totally doesn't give a fuck because he knows he's the greatest thing since sliced bread and you just wish you could be as awesome
as he is. That's what I want Tiger Woods to be.

stories and then we can stop talking about this.

It doesn't work that way with any of the useless and thoroughly shitty media that covers golf. Even when he's having a bad round, like he
has been for most of the last year, the stories are always full of the usual Tiger-worship that he's been getting from the golf journalists
since his career began. He can be stuck in 20th place and 10 shots behind going into the Sunday round with literally zero chance to win (because
despite the propaganda, Woods is not a come-from-behind player: his major skill as a golfer is getting a big lead on Friday or Saturday and
successfully sitting on it while the others implode trying to catch up to him), and the lead-in stories are always full of the "Tiger Lurking, Other
Golfers Pooping Their Pants In Terror" bullshit. In a classic CYA moment, GOLF Channel actually refused to run any critical stories about Woods at
all, past a certain point when the explosion of whores erupted last year, apparently out of "respect for Tiger and his family".
Clubhouse/media relationships in football or baseball are normally bad enough, with the way that the reporters and columnists back off of the hard
questions in order to keep their access to the players, coaches, and managers. But if you want to see some real brown-nosing and some genuine
slobbering blowjobs as the reporters suck up to the players, then spend a year watching the golf media in action. It's genuinely fucking
disgusting as far as a classic example of the media not doing their job goes. The vast majority of these guys, especially in the magazines and at GOLF
Channel, aren't even real journalists anyway. They're just a bunch of former tour players and golf industry employees themselves who know
how to back away from any controversy in order not to piss off the golden goose.

Yeah, I want him to have an attitude that is similar to that of Ric Flair or Chris Jericho, only I want him to win most of the time, like Ric Flair,
as opposed to lose most of the time, like Chris Jericho.

I personally have always hated golf and don't even consider it a sport. It's been made worse by all the Tiger worship the last decade or
so. What always amuses me is that the media talking heads complain that when Tiger's not playing, or out early, there's no big names. Of
course there are no big names! You spend too much time sucking Tiger's cock to build up anyone else. I've heard there are some really
good young players on the tour. How about you spend a few minutes on all your sports shows talking about them/building them up rather than discussing
if Tiger can pass Jack Nicklaus for Nteenth time.
