OO INTERVIEW
Ratting Out with The Narc:
Interview with Disco Inferno
December 18, 2001

by The Narc
Exclusive to OnlineOnslaught.com

Gil Gilbertti, a.k.a. the Disco Inferno, was good enough to stop in Pittsburgh for an IWC show.  He drinks a lot of coffee, apparently.  He also has one of those daily pill dispensers, sort of like in "Disorderlies".  Sidenote:  A much longer interview with the Sandman is coming soon, and he does a Dusty impression!

TN: The Narc
DI: Disco Inferno

TN:  You just toured Australia a little while back.

DI:  No, we just toured the United Kingdom.  With the WWA.

TN:  How’d that go?

DI:  Excellent.

TN:  Now you were on the WCW Australia tour, what happened with Juventud Guererra?

DI:  He just got all messed up, and he freaked out, and he got arrested.

TN:  I was talking to a couple of radio guys, and they said that Chris Jericho has pretty much ripped off your whole wardrobe.

DI:  Has he really?

TN:  That’s what they say.

Since when is Disco a
Hardcore Icon?

DI:  I don’t know about that.  He obviously shops at Gadzooks.  I get my stuff tailor made, custom made stuff.

TN:  What do you think of the WWF existing as the only big national company, what sort of impact do you think that on the industry?

DI:  There’s no challenge.  They’ve got to write good TV, or nobody’s gonna watch their show.  I don’t think it’s a good thing.  But they know how to produce guys and how to market them, so for the boys it’s the place to work.

TN:  Will the XWF make a big impact?  What’s your opinion on that?

DI:  I don’t know.  I just want to know that they’re doing to hit the young audience.

TN:  You’re the Disco Inferno--which is the better movie?  “Stayin’ Alive” or “Saturday Night Fever”?

DI:  “Saturday Night Fever” by far.  “Stayin’ Alive” is a travesty of justice.

TN:  So what sort of music do you listen to, then?  I can’t imagine you take kayfabe too far.

DI:  Club music, rock and roll, everything but country.

TN:  What’s wrong with country?

DI:  It sucks, too boring.

TN:  You were involved, to some extent, with the creative process in WCW.  Describe that scene?

DI:  No cooperation from production.  We didn’t have a boss.  It was like we were in a war, we were behind enemy lines, and our chain of command was gone, and we still had to attack every week.  It was just brutal, just a very poorly run company.

TN:  How did that play out with the politics backstage?

DI:  At the end there really were no politics backstage.  The guys ran the show.  We wrote stuff for them to do, if they didn’t want to do it some of the guys wouldn’t do it.  To hell with it, no sweat off of my back.

TN:  So what’s next for the Disco Inferno?

DI:  I’m gonna be touring with the group that went to Australia and the United Kingdom, we’ve got like 70 shows coming up this year.  I’ve signed a deal with them, and we’re going to be touring the world.

TN:  Is Bret Hart working the shows?

DI:  No, he’s the commissioner.  He cuts interviews and stuff.

TN:  Yeah, how’s he doing?

DI:  Good.  Good guy.

TN:  How are YOU doing?

DI:  (laughs)  I’m doing real good.  You know.  I’m doing all right, I guess.
