ONLINE ONSLAUGHT
WWE TV Spoilers
March 5, 2003

by Rick Scaia
Exclusive to OnlineOnslaught.com

There probably have never been a more anticipated set of spoilers... I mean: how would WWE deal with the rumored loss of Kurt Angle from the WM19 main event due to severe neck injury?

The answer: apparently, they send him out to the ring to take a few  bumps and don't mention a thing about the injury.  Hmmm...

If you must know more, complete details of the WWE's remaining week of TV are below.  Otherwise, cover your eyes and hit BACK, and everything can still be a surprise.

Here goes with results from last night, as compiled from e-mail reports:

  • Dark Matches/Matches taped for Velocity:  Sean O'Haire, Kanyon, and Bill DeMott pinned jobbers...  Billy Kidman beat Shannon Moore...  Nidia beat Dawn Marie...  Nunzio (with some help from FBI2K3) beat Funaki.
  • In a very good opening match, Rey Mysterio beat Tajiri and Jamie Noble to get a WM19 shot at the Cruiserweight Title.  Noble powdered out after interference from Nidia, allowing Rey to get the pin on Tajiri.
  • Los Guerreros solidified their claim on #1-contendership to the tag titles with a win over Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli.
  • Backstage: Angle tried to convince Steph to drop the Heyman/Lesnar cage match later in the night.  Steph not only refused to ditch the match, but she also added the stip that if Heyman loses, Lesnar will have get his shot at Angle NEXT WEEK on SD...
  • In a PPV rematch, Matt Hardy was able to once again beat Billy Kidman to retain his Cruiserweight Title.
  • Backstage: Nidia is livid that Torrie was chosen for Playboy, and somehow uses this to segue into a challenge at the upcoming Girls Gone Wild PPV, suggesting (no doubt inaccurately) that WWE fans should buy the PPV to see Torrie and Nidia naked.  Then Nidia flashed Josh Matthews, who seemed to enjoy his free sample.
  • Earlier today: Nathan Jones is working out in the ring, while Undertaker coaches him.  Suddenly, Jones snaps and starts brutalizing a jobber.  Taker has to pull him off the guy.
  • A-Train got a cheap DQ win over Undertaker.  Show was at ringside with A-Train, and Jones was there for Taker, and thanks to Show's taunting, Jones shoved the referee to get at Show, prompting the ref to DQ Taker.
  • On tape: John Cena rapped about his return to WWE, promising to get revenge on Brock Lesnar soon.
  • Rhyno and Chris Benoit teamed up again, and got a non-title win over Team Angle in the night's best wrestling match.  Benoit got the win for his team by getting Charlie Haas to tap out.
  • Hulk Hogan came out for a promo, and was soon joined by Vince McMahon.  The two verbally sparred for a good 10 minutes, it seemed, and tracked their past together all the way back to Vince "saving" Hogan from the AWA in 1983, and argued, essentially, about who made who and then who screwed who in the wake of Hogan's 1993 departure from the WWF.  It all built up to a challenge from Hogan:  he wants to wrestle Vince at WM19.  Vince finally accepts, but only under the condition that Hogan must retire if he loses.  Hogan accepts, and Vince seemed inordinately happy about having to wrestle the Hulkster as he walked away from the ring.
  • Brock Lesnar beat Paul Heyman in their cage match.  Before the match, Lesnar fended off an attack by Team Angle, then got in the cage and dispatched Heyman in short order.  Angle himself, despite his injury, played a part in the match, attempted to run interference and get the better of Lesnar; instead, he got tossed into the cage and bladed.  Lesnar and Angle had a staredown to close the taped portion of the show, though the beatdown of Heyman continued a bit longer afterwards for the live crowd.

Check out SD! on Thursday to see how the show plays as-aired... but if you want answer about the way the Fed's gonna handle the WM19 main event, well, it looks like you gotta wait another week to find out for sure.
