SummerSlam in Toronto?

Don't ask me how I know this.... but just heard from a fairly reliable source (and no, not totalbs@hotmail.com, but a REAL source) that it's official.

SummerSlam in Toronto, baby!!! Woo hoo!!!!

That would be very good, would they be using the dome or another venue?

Not sure yet. Working on figuring that out. The Dome would be a natural, but I wonder if it could actually fill 60,000 plus fans. I mean, Mania did that, but demand has certainly dropped since that. AND... WrestleMania was only two years ago.

I'm kinda hoping for the ACC, just because I have a great hookup for tickets.

I think ACC would be a good choice - last RAW and SD I went to they did not have the upper levels filled, so if they did that they could fit a good number of fans.

The dome is hosting a Jays game on the current set day for SummerSlam...the ACC has nothing on it's rradar for that Day.

If this is true, it'll be sweet.

SummerSlam in Toronto?

Or do you think they might do something different and have it outdoors ( ie in Molson Park? ) Since it is Summer Slam and it is during a rare time of the year that the weather is nice in Toronto. Or better yet they can have it on the grounds of the CNE (Similar to that Huge outdoor event they had at the Old Exhibition Stadium eons ago) Where Hogan beat Mr. Wonderful

If you were talking about the Molson Park in Barrie, I thought that they had closed it down?

It was at one time rumoured that since WMXX was going to be in a small arena (due to the nature of the event) that the fed was going to have a 60,000+ crowd payperview at SummerSlam. But this isn’t going to happen. Oh well…All I care about is the fact that it’s going to be here in Toronto, and the ACC I think is the best place to hold the event.

I was just looking at the WWE Schedule on Rajah and it said there is a SD! taping scheduled for Aug. 1 in Toronto.

Any takes on this?

If that is the case, then it's pretty cool. I'm only like 5hrs from Toronto and it would be very reasonable for me to drive there. Then again, there's been plenty of PPVs closer to where I am (Albany is like 1/2hr from me and they've had PPVs there several times) and I never seem to be able to make it to a live appearance. Now that I'm thinking about it, I haven't been to a live wrestling event since ECW used to pop up near me on a regular basis. And the county fair doesn't count.

Which makes me think a Toronto trip is much more plausible all of a sudden...

But I'm rambling.
