Cool WrestleMania gimmick match?

Howdy!

So I see a lot of people wondering how in the world the WWE is going to fit all of its superstars on the WrestleMania XX card.

How's this for an idea? A big tag team turmoil match featuring stars of today teamed with stars of the past. Say, like, Randy Savage teamed up with John Cena (as the Hip-Hop Hall of Famers? ). A. does anyone think the WWE could pull this off, and B. would it be something you'd care to see?

What other tag teams could they put together? I'd like to see...

Jimmy Snuka & Rob Van Dam
Sgt. Slaughter & Rob Conway
Roddy Piper & Sean O'Haire
Honky Tonk Man & Christian
Greg Valentine & Lance Storm
The Genius & Chris Nowinski
Hillbilly Jim & Jamie Noble
George "The Animal" Steele & Rhyno

Those are just a few ideas. I think it would be a neat spin on the Gimmick Battle Royal from WM X-7!

In a word, no. Pretty much all those veterans are so far past their prime that seeing them in a match like that would only tarnish their legacy. I don't understand this need to take the heroes of the past, bring them out and parrade them around like a bunch of side show oddities. And thats what they would be to the 50 or 60 percent of the WWE audience who isn't old enough to remember them.

Now if you had a time machine...

naw, it would still suck.

I figure Valentine and Storm were both some pretty bland, boring wrestlers. Then Valentine got caught up with the Honky Tonk Man for Rhythm & Blues, like Lance has just teamed up with Goldust.

I realize now, though, that the obvious tag team should have been George "The Animal" Steele and A-TRAIN, not Rhyno. I'm so STUPID! : )

Why Sgt. Slaughter and Rob Conway?

Have you noticed that in every group of people there is a guy who just knows shit? He has no explanation for how he knows it or any reason to know it, he just knows shit. Be careful around that guy, he is thinking of ways to kill you.

For some odd reason I am on Twitter. You can follow me @BPF32781

Yeah, Slaughter may have had a heel run as an 'Anti-American', but it was a pretty short run as I recall. Slaughter is still remembered for his Rock 'n Wrestling era schtick as being a patriot and for being on GI Joe and leading the crowd in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. When he wrestles the occasional match now he comes out as face. I couldn't see the WWE reviving a gimmick such as this for one match with no real explanation for WrestleMania.
