Morimoto is RAW

I see that Food TV is getting ready to celebrate the opening of Morimoto's new restaurant with a lengthy series on the last Iron Chef Japanese. I have found this series to be almost as entertaining as pro wrestling - who says the Japanese don't have a sense of humor?

VKM's booking team could learn a few lessons from the writers of IC.

Of course, we have IC USA, which compares to the original like the Russo-era WCW (Arquette title reign and all) compared to the WWF of the time...

Yes...YES! Thank-You and Huzzah! I love Iron Chef and probably have an unhealthy obsession with it. I am looking forward to the All-Morimoto month at Food TV.

I find it interesting that the 3 announcers operate like the ones on Monday Night Football - one (fukai) for play-by-play, one (the doctor) for color and one to throw in comments here and there (usually some actress).

I also really like the one taster/judge - the old, bald guy w/glasses at the end of the table. He's a real ball-buster.

Yes, he is pretty good. I do miss the "4-judge" panel though. It was always so much fun watching KIshi and Hosoki do their tag-team act on Kobe over the years. It would have been fun to see them with the Rosanjin scholar - poor Kaga would have been hard put to keep up with them!

Actually, it sounds more like "kui-san" to me.

Now, if Kaientai really wanted to do a funny skit, they could do an "Iron Chef"-style announce job during an upcoming match (maybe Booker T vs. Tajiri?)

It appears you are not the only one. In fact, I would hazard a guess and say that IC fans are about as addicted to their favorite "entertainment" as pro wrestling fans are.

BTW, I see that FoodTV is starting to advertise IC merchandise. Sakai action figures, anyone? It's interesting that FTV keeps IC going strong - a show that has been out of production for 2 years. Maybe IC will be the next "Star Trek"

Well how about this? I have met Masaharu Morimoto! I live in NY and his was doing a book signing at a placed called Chef Central on Rt. 17 in Paramus NJ.

He autographed my copy of the Iron Chef book and shook my hand...I'm still sweating.

Any show that can make me hungry for things I hate eating frightens and fascinates me. Love the voice work, but they really missed the boat in skipping over the Ocean Comapny. *GEEK JOKE! GEEK JOKE!*
