Your favorite commercial -- right now

1. The Baseball Geico one. I don't know why, but I love that one. "Swartez, I have good news. I'm taking you out." "That's Good News" "Yea, I just saved a bunch on my car insurance by switch to Geico. Give me the ball!" Classic.

2. That Willie Nelson Tax-Comerical. I picked up a TV-guide with Willie on it and all I could think of was "MY FACE IS BURNING".

3. That new Sheetz comerical where somebody plays "Jared" and sneaks into a hotel room, eating a Sheetz sub.

4. Oh yeah, and those Truth Comericals that say Ted Dibiase is dead.

Does anybody have a favorite?

Whats the deal with that new Dell kid and his "friend" Darren. Who brings a platonic same-sex co-worker home to his parents house for the weekend?

Seriously, ya gotta wonder.

My favorite commercials right now dont air in the USA I think. They are the ones with the kids turning the tables on the parents and treating them like the parents would in the context of kids sport.

Like the kid in the back of the car yelling at his dad because of the bullshit ticket the cop was giving them. Or the little girl in the supermarket trying to get her mom into a fight over a bumped cart.

The message they convey is strong and they are highly entertaining.

They generally air on the Score durring Smackdown so I know some of you Canadians have seen them.

The Suave for men commercials are hilarious.

One of them has the scenario where the guy meets his buddies at the bar and he gets upset when none of them notice that he changed his hair.

The other one is double date scene and the one guy asks the other guy if he wants to go to the bathroom with him.

I also like the Willie Nelson commercial.

The Sour Starburst commercial with the Chinese family cracks me up.

The Sam Adams commercials: Always a good choice.

Miller Lite's catfight commercials and its spinoffs.

Dr. Pepper commercial with LL Cool J and Run DMC

All Jack In The Box commercials in the last 6 years have been great. It's a shame for the rest of you the Jack is only in the west coast.

Rogers AT&T wireless commercial, guy working out on a treadmill gets flung back into the wall, leaving a huge hole, then he pops up like "I meant to do that". I laugh every time I see it.

Roger video commercial, girl drops off a video, gets into her car, then a cow falls on the hood of her car. Cow gets up up and looks at the girl, then walks away. Then they show the movie she dropped off...Twister. I die laughing every time I see the cow hit.

Trident (or dentyne, not sure). Guy throws his gum out in the wrapper, but the gum jumps up and chases him down the street holloring in a scottish accent "I'm not through with you, I got 256 more chews in me" Funny stuff

"click it or ticket."

the commercial really isn't anything special, but the slogan always cracks me up.

Another mentionable one is the Bud ceiling fan commerical. If you've seen it, you know it.

I'm with salmonjunkie on the Sour Starburst commercial. It gets me every time. I still love the Osbournes/Osmands commercial, just for Ozzy's facial expressions.

A bit off-topic, but is anyone else disturbed by Extra's "angry gumball" commercial?

What is so disturbing about the "angry gumball??" Unless you think that a commerical of an angry gumball will have kids assult people with gumballs, and if that did happen -- don't blame the gumball, blame yourselves.

The gumball is pissed that no one wants to chew on him. And he breaks into song. Need I say more?

No, a friggin' gumball would be kinda cute. This is an angry gumball who will follow me around and sing if I don't chew him. Does not make me eager to try Extra.

my writing profs in school would have said they're not technically commercials, but the sportscenter promos are always great, especially the bull durham parodies they've done recently. i think peter gammons did a better job playing crash than costner did.

The TSN ones are especially good as well. A newish one that stands out in my mind is the one where Dutch is trying to stop Smith from shaving off his playoff beard.

The others are also generally outstandingly funny.

I just wish they would do one with Jennifer Hedger.

mmmmmmm Jennifer Hedger...

Extra! thats what it was, I thought it was Trident. Either way, it is very funny. The scottish accent does it.

"I'm not through with you laddy!!!!!!!"

oh, and there was no singing.

Sigh---I just had to open my big mouth and mention the damn angry gumball commercial.

For anyone who has not seen this commercial, a plain old gumball gets pissed off because no one wants him anymore due to the long lasting flavor provided by Extra. He sings a song and bounces around to express his rage. Sigh. I feel like such an ass just describing that.

cpd, the commercial you described actually sounded funny. This one is just weird.

That angry gumball ad got me to thinking about a spate of Shopper's Drug Mart commercials. The premise is that your pharmacist is your personal pharmacist who appears in your house at random intervals. Just goddamn creepy.

I still love that Nike commercial with the two guys in the slam-dunk contest (I'm sure I should know who they are, but I haven't watched basketball in a good four years), and end up wearing out the basket. They both start laughing when they look up at the drooping rim. Good stuff.

And, of course:

"Can I write check?"

"Yo."

"Yao."

"Yo!"

"Yao!"

That one still makes me laugh.

Big Show and Nascar -- something about that doesn't seem right. Although Jeff Hammond going "NO BIG SHOW! NOT THAT TYPE OF WRESTLING!"
