NFL Playoffs 2018

It seems like we all lost interest in the regular season here two months ago, but hey, maybe the playoffs will spark some new discussion. Next weekend's matchups:

Saturday: Titans (5) at Chiefs (4) and Falcons (6) at Rams (3)
Sunday: Bills (7) at Jaguars (3) and Panthers (5) at Saints (4)

My predictions:

Chiefs (4) over Titans (5)
Falcons (6) over Rams (3)
Jaguars (3) over Bills (7)
Saints (4) over Panthers (5)

Patriots (1) over Chiefs (4)
Falcons (6) over Eagles (1)
Steelers (2) over Jaguars (3)
Saints (4) over Vikings (2)

Falcons (6) over Saints (4)
Patriots (1) over Steelers (2)

Falcons (6) over Patriots (1)

I'm not even a Bills fan, but I marked out so f'n hard today when the Bengals managed to NOT choke away the game and thus eliminate the Ravens of Balti-less. I'm so bored with Baltimore, and Yay for the upcoming (and probably ridiculous) Bills Mafia Playoff Shenanigans!!!

I love that the Bills made the playoffs for the first time in forever and will pull for them in the AFC. I think they have at least a chance to beat Jacksonville, but don't see them getting past New England/Pittsburgh in the next round however.

I would just like to add that Browns' fans are planning on having a parade to honor the 0-16 year. They plan on forming an "0".

In other news, Hue Jackson, the Browns current and apparently future coach will jump in Lake Erie after promising that this year will be better than last year's 1-15 campaign or he'll jump in the lake.

And, the wife of future felon and current Browns owner Jimmy Haslem, had the balls (and I can only assume that they are made of steel) to have an article in today's Cleveland paper on how the education system in Ohio really demands subsidizing private schools.

I only signed up so I can read the forum.

I didn't even realize that the Browns had gone 1-15 last year. That makes them 1-31 in the past two seasons and if you go back one year further, 4-44. Jesus.

Given your obvious power of influencing outcomes as demonstrated last year, I am happy to see that you don't have NE winning this year. Of course I blame last year's SB result on you 100%, but that didn't influence my non-voting for you for Lifetime in the bOOardies

Also congrats to the Bills as a #7 seed making the playoffs

I'll play so I can be wrong in public and further demonstrate ineptness at SPORTZ-picking:

AFC
Titans (5) over Chiefs (4)
Jaguars (3) over Bills (6)

Patriots (1) over Titans (5)
Steelers (2) over Jaguars (3)

Patriots (1) over Steelers (2)

NFC
Rams (3) over Falcons (6)
Saints (4) over Panthers (5)

Saints (4) over Eagles (1)
Vikings (2) over Rams (3)

Vikings (2) over Saints (4)

Super Bowl
Vikings over Patriots

I don't believe for a minute that the Vikings will beat the Patriots, but I can't pick the Patriots because of HATRED.

I want Buffalo to get to the conference finals just for the Bills fans who provided the greatest Good Ol' JR voice-over of all time.

Ah yes, I did go 11/11 with my playoff picks last year (despite my "this fucking game is over!" rant halfway through the Super Bowl when the Falcons were up 28-3). Can I repeat it this year? I hope not, because I don't want to see the Falcons win the Super Bowl.

Well, if it weren't for the Chiefs being the Chiefs, I would have gone 4/4 with my picks this weekend.

And I think Drew Brees is officially my Panthers' kryptonite. He's made us his bitch three times straight this year.

Welp, there goes my Super Bowl pick. Though as a Panthers fan, I hate the Falcons, so I'm okay with being wrong. 28-3 lives on.

As a Saints fan, fuuuuuuck the Falcons. Watching them fall apart in the playoffs never gets old. And capping it off with Julio begging for a flag following that fourth down play after A) falling down on his route and B) coming down out of bounds anyway was goddamn beautiful.

That said, the Eagles are ripe to be beaten. Even with the NFCCG being in Philly, I feel pretty confident predicting that the winner of Saints/Vikings will be going to the Super Bowl.

I don't entirely disagree, but Philly's defense is legit. Plus home field advantage and Foles being halfway serviceable gives the Eagles a 50/50 chance against Minnesota or New Orleans in my opinion.

And wow, who saw the Jags putting up 45 on the Steelers in Pittsburgh today? I don't know how much of a chance they have against the Patriots next week, but it would be awesome if they could pull off another upset and go to the Super Bowl.

I'm jumping on the Jags bandwagon, if only because I'd support a team of sicario Trump-supporting lepers over New England.

I am really curious to see what the Jags defense can do against the Pats line. The only way Jacksonville will win is if Tom Brady spends the game running for his life. Weather will definitely be a factor. Any snow will make life hell for Bortles.

Turnovers will be huge. Two turnovers from Jacksonville will almost guarantee their loss. If the chips fall their way, though, the Jags can pull off the upset, especially if Brady is off.

Just when I was about to say that in the second half Case Keenum remembered that he was Case Keenum...HOLY SHIT. And after watching my Panthers get owned by the Saints all season, that felt pretty good.

Though I will say that a Brady vs Brees shootout in the Super Bowl would have been pretty great. Fingers crossed now though for Keenum vs Bortles.

EDIT: I literally texted my brother "Keenum's gonna go 80 yards in 25 seconds!" at the end as a total joke.

EDIT 2: Three of the last four quarterbacks remaining are Case Keenum, Blake Bortles, and Nick Foles. Who had that prediction at the beginning of the season?

EDIT 3: That moment you realize either Case Keenum or Nick Foles are going to be playing in the Super Bowl.

Okay, I'm done. And drunk.

And people wonder why ratings are down.

Bill James made a claim that the attendance in baseball (which was way down in the 50s) was due to the dominance of the Yankees. It makes a certain amount of sense. I think the dominance of the Patriots does the NFL no favors, especially given how darn unlikeable they are.
