Wait...so, you...don't want peace in the Middle East? That's...kinda fucked up, but you do you, man.

LOL. You too have made an assumption... I was just making a point. For the official record, I'd prefer people not kill each other anywhere.

Another Trump lie:

White House now says that 3 to 5 million people voted illegally, which is why Donald didn't win the popular vote. Problem is, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest such widespread fraud, and in fact, there is a great deal of evidence to suggest that voter fraud was a absolute non-factor in the election.

If I was a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist, I'd suggest that this is an attempt by Trump to de-legitimize ANY election result that doesn't go his way so that he can remain in power indefinitely.

By the way, the press conference where his press secretary had to explain Donald's unsubstantiated statement about 3 to 5 million illegal votes was golden:

I mean, even Trump supporters think this is ludicrous, right? Right?

Right?

With the already swirling rumours that Putin and the Russians already tampered with this election you would think that Drumph would just shut up already about there being other things wrong with the election as one would imagine that even if both stories are bullshit they kind of completely undermine his legitimacy as president...

Another broken promise:

"During the campaign season, Donald Trump promised to get tough with America's pharmaceutical manufacturers, and to use the United States government's largesse to wrangle better prices on prescription drugs."

"On Tuesday, Trump met with a group of pharmaceutical bigwigs, and there was zero talk of negotiating better prices. Instead, the discussion focused on tax breaks and reducing regulatory barriers."

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-sweden-idUSKBN15Y0QH

U.S. President Donald Trump's suggestion that Sweden experienced an immigration-related security incident prompted a baffled response from the Scandinavian country on Sunday as diplomats asked for an explanation and citizens responded with amusement.

Trump, who in his first weeks in office has tried to sharply tighten U.S. borders on national security grounds, cited Sweden as a country that had experienced problems with immigrants in remarks at a rally on Saturday.

"You look at what's happening last night in Sweden," Trump said. "Sweden. Who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They're having problems like they never thought possible."

That appeared to confuse the Swedish government, which asked the U.S. State Department to explain what the new president meant.

"We are trying to get clarity," Swedish Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Catarina Axelsson said. The State Department said it did not comment on diplomatic communications.

In his defense, he's probably just having a vague recollection of their last terror attack....

Because he loves campaigning. The rush for someone that egotistical to have hundreds (thousands) of people cheering you, chanting your name, listening and believing everything you say; I would assume that he has a huge (the biggest) boner after each one.

Better than Viagra.

Exactly what OOMike said. Campaigning is about "winning". Presidenting is about "working 24/7, with little/no respect".

DJT likes winning. He isn't a big fan of hard work. When things get tough, he pulls his name off buildings that he endorsed, and sues somebody.

The fact that 40% of American adults think he is doing a good job is mind-boggling.

Yes, lowest approval rating of any modern president at this point in his term, but still...4 in 10 Americans are A-OK with this shit? Fuck.

Here's a quote from a Trump supporter from an article on CNN.com:

"He's the perfect reality show star. He's now starring in his own reality show," she said. "At this point in history and in our country, with all the issues that we have to face, it may be time for non-convention to take the lead and take the bull by the horn and start wrestling some of these issues that are serious issues for our country."

Fuck me to death....

I think the 4 in 10 Americans who still support Trump should be forced to move to Utah.

Then we nuke Utah.

My personal opinion is that in today's world, there will always be around 35-40% of the country that will support him, no matter what. There will always be around 35-40% of the country that will hate him, no matter what. The trick is to get that 20-30% to support you.

I think the trick would be colo-rectal surgery on the 35-40% of the populace who self-identifies as Trumpers, because we need to get a lot of heads out of asses.

He isn't really "supportable" on almost-any level, so the people who -are- supporting him are just plain wrong. We're allowed to help people learn things, right? Sometimes it's not a situation where "my opinion is as valid as yours", and this is one of those cases.

eta: Pad gets it, as seen below this post. The USA has turned into an Apathacracy? A democracy where most of the populace doesn't give a shit anymore.

Don't give the dickwad the credit he doesn't deserve. He got about 27% of the eligible vote. Clinton got another 27-28%. The rest stayed home because they don't care and have no interest in further participating in a farce. The only thing approaching a "majority" is the vast numbers who aren't playing this stupid game anymore.

Trump's elderly base right now:

http://thehill.com/policy/finance/321387-white-house-wont-rule-out-future-entitlement-cuts

quote:
White House officials wouldn't rule out future cuts to Social Security and Medicare, while insisting Monday that President Trump wouldn’t touch benefits for current recipients.

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said the administration's first budget outline won’t address entitlement reform, echoing Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin’s comments on Sunday to Fox News.

Trump promised during the campaign not to cut Social Security or Medicare payments for current beneficiaries, a pledge backed by Mnuchin during his confirmation hearings.

Mulvaney, a former congressional fiscal hawk who promised to push for entitlement reform as Trump’s budget director, said the outline won’t break Trump’s promise to maintain current Social Security and Medicare benefits. He wouldn't say whether the administration would seek changes to Social Security and Medicare later.
“It’s the president keeping his promises and doing exactly what he said he was going to do,” said Mulvaney at the White House press briefing. “We are taking his words and we turning them into policies and dollars.”

Mulvaney said Trump’s first budget blueprint would be released on March 16, outlining basic expenditures for the federal government. A full budget with policy and economic projections, including potential entitlement reforms, would be released in early May.

Newly elected presidents typically release budget blueprints before full comprehensive proposals in their first year, while they staff their administration and develop policies.

Mulvaney declined to say whether the May proposal will address entitlement reform, noting the White House just started the budgeting process.

“This is not a full-blown budget,” said Mulvaney of the March outline.

When asked whether Trump would consider future entitlement reforms, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said the president stands by his promise not to cut benefits for current recipients, but did not answer whether Trump would consider cuts for future beneficiaries.

“The president understands the commitment that was made to seniors," said Spicer. “Regardless of whether you voted for him or not, whether or not you agree with his policies, he’s a man of his word.”

Trump hasn’t said whether he’d consider cuts for future entitlement beneficiaries, despite years of Republican efforts to reform Social Security and Medicare. The programs are two most expensive parts of the federal budget, and the trust funds fueling them are projected to run dry in less than two decades.

Democrats have embraced Trump’s promise and warned him to oppose potential Republican efforts to cut or adjust benefits.

The problem with Spicer's logic is that The Donald is NOT a man of his word, and it has been repeatedly proven to be a bad idea to do business with The Donald.

Conservatives whine all the time about "entitlements" and "welfare", but the VAST majority of our taxes go toward Social Security and Medicare, which could be construed as "entitlements", but are WILDLY popular and have been for 60 years. There's a reason it's nicknamed the "Third Wheel of Politics" - you just don't touch it.

Based on the 2015 federal budget, 33% of the federal budget goes to "Social Security, Unemployment, and Labor", while another 27% goes to Medicare/Medicaid. Another 4% goes to Veterans' Benefits, and 2% goes to Housing & Community Projects. So that's 66% of the federal budget that goes to projects that Republicans could call "welfare". TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) make up 0.18% of the federal budget.

Meanwhile our spending on the military makes up 16% of our entire federal budget and which we outspend the next 9 nations COMBINED, 7 of whom are our allies.

We outspend China 3 to 1 on military. Last year we spent over 600 BILLION dollars on the military spending. ALL OTHER NATIONS IN THE WORLD COMBINED spent over 900 billion dollars.

But yeah, Donald, let's gut the EPA (keeps our air and water clean), the State Department (promotes international peace and diplomacy) and take away money from the sick, the elderly, and veterans so we can buy more bombers and warships. Makes sense.
