Amazing Spider-man 2

Well there certainly seems to be a lot going on, but I can't really tell who the main villain is supposed to be. Electro or Harry Osborn?

This shot has me interested:

Obviously Ock's arms on the right, but on the left? Is that a Goblin Glider, or is it a Vulture wingsuit?

Two things I took from this trailer:

-Harry Osborn looks like an emo douche.

-Foxx's Electro looks a lot like Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze.

Is everyone mad here?
Of course they are, and you are too... otherwise, you wouldn't have come here.

trailer looks interesting. Goblin looks awful. I hope there's a good reason they have 3 villains in this story (besides setting up for an eventual Sinister Six in the future)

I don't might the 3 villains because of the Sinister Six angle. You want to see that escalation. 1 to 3 to 6.

The problem with multi-villains in the past is it's always been 2 or 3 separate villains with separate motivations that have no real connection to each other and are then shoehorned into have some big battle together at the end.

I think multiple villains will work here as they will all have a connection to OsCorp.

Overall I think this movie looks pretty darn cool. I don't understand why everyone has such a hard time getting Goblin right, but Mecha-Rhino doesn't really bother me.

"I don't understand why everyone has such a hard time getting Goblin right"

I think because of the mask and the purple tunic.

Ugh. The CGI for Spidey looks awful. Hopefully it comes across better on the big screen.

For real. How goddamn hard is it to find a decent looking goblin mask and throw a purple hat and tunic on a guy?

Christ, this looks worse than Raimi's Goblin, and that was putrid.

I think its that whole "Lets not stay too close to the comic" think with tights and costumes.... see X-men...

But I think the scene with 6 doors opening is implying Sinster Six

But put me in the category of Electro and Goblin look horrible and Harry looks like a douche

The problem with the goblin--and spiderman too--is that it is hard to find a mask that keys you show actual emotion

unclear on why they would get Jamie Foxx to play Electro. Seeks like a total waste.

Still looks cool though.

Isn't that why you hire a talented actor? Hugo Weaving rocked it in the Guy Fawkes mask as V.

A costume that doesn't look ridiculous and an actor that has the chops to work without facial expressions. That's all they need and they still haven't brought up a decent Goblin to the screen.

The Lord of the Rings movies have managed goblin faces pretty well, I'd say. Go that route for the Goblin.

This is what they originally came up with for The Goblin in the Raimi movies:

Still, it could always be worse.

They should've gone with that version, IMO. Pretty sweet. The musical version, not so much...

They could do that if they were going with the Ultimate Goblin, not regular Goblin who's wearing a mask.

Yes, a good actor could work with a mask, but obviously they don't think it works. That's why every spiderman movie involves his mask getting ripped off constantly.

You know, while not a great Spider-man story, or a great musical for that matter... I will say that Turn out the dark was a lot of fun. I saw it when I was in NYC last year and the wire work was pretty epic.. It's probably overall geared more towards young kids, except the price tag to get in is more than ridiculous... I lucked out though; I wound up in the main orchestra just right of the stage a few rows back. I didn't mind forking out the $100 as it was my first time in New York and Broadway is a bit of a must, and I can cross that off my bucket list now.

But yeah... The Green Goblin left a lot to be desired.

They're even doing that with Captain America. He gets his mask ripped off in the big battle in Avengers, and it looks like he's barely going to wear the mask in The Winter Soldier.

Do people forget that Darth Vader became one of the most iconic characters in movie history without ever seeing his face? I know it's tougher without seeing a face, but it can still be done. Always losing the mask is just taking the easy way out.

Because he was emotionless.

And played by James Earl Jones.

I think more often than not it's a case of if you are going to pay a guy millions of dollars for his face, you might as well get your money's worth... coupled with actors figuring if they are going to be in a high profile role, they want to be seen in it.

I have a lot of respect for Karl Urban and the guy's who made Dredd, as unlike 5 minutes into the Stallone version, Urban actually kept the helmet on for the whole movie.

Also... sometimes stuff just works in comic books, and doesn't on screen. The tamer version of Wolverine's hair do for example works, the weird horned spikey thing some guys draw it like would probably look lame... ditto for the mask... it might work, or it might look completely ridiculous.
