Zombie movies

Does anyone have a movie or director of this nature that they hold near and dear to their heart?

My favorites: Dawn of the Dead, and George Romero naturally.

I am a big fan of Night of the Living Dead (the original). While the camp factor is high, I thought it was a fun movie. It's even better if you hear the history of the making of the movie (like any time you hear crickets, it was because someone on the set made noise and they dubbed it over later)

I prefer Day of the Dead to the other Romero zombie movies. Just incredibly sick gore effects.

One really BAD but entertaining zombie flick to check out - City of the Walking Dead. You'll laugh your ass off at the pathetic "zombie" makeup.

Also check out "I zombie" - it's worth it for one scene involving zombie masturbation.

Yeah I've seen vicaps of "City" and the makeup is hilarious. To me it just looked like they glued pieces of dry oatmeal to the actors' faces. From what I have read the gore factor is incredibly high, although that's the regular guidline for Euro horror in this particular genre: bad plotline, okay makeup, and gore like there is no tomorrow.

Definitely have to give props to Night (because it is a classic of course) and Day.
