Angels in 5. Better pitching will always beat decent hitting.

Well shit, I'll have to go with the Giants, since no one else is. MVP- Jeff Kent, I think he has to accomplish SOMETHING this post-season, he's due to blow up big time.

Dammit, I missed that! I was wondering what kind of drugs you had to use to think J.T. is going to be WS MVP. It's just too bad Mo Vaughn isn't still there, cause he had a bit of a Mark Henry look (fat), and then him and Ms. Autry could have an affair and the rest would be history in the Raw World Series. Oh, and Kevin Appier could play the role of Naked Mideon. If that wouldn't turn the western world celibate, I don't know what would.

Damn Giants. I was supposed to be at Game 6 of the NLCS today, but since the Cards couldn't score any runs, I was bored at work instead. Angels in 6. I hate Kenny Lofton!!!

Ya know, Mr. Stein, if we carry the WS to its logical IANWCWWE booking conclusion, no matter who wins, it will be revealed that 10 years ago, Barry Bonds was drunk in a car with the Angels owner and signed an Angel contract. Thus negating this year's World series and necessitating that the championship be held up pending a tournament....either that or Trips sledgehammers everybody on both teams and unifies the World Series with which ever belt he's wearing this week.......

Damn... "Mr. Stein"? I could get used to that kind of respect!
And yeah, I don't think they'd bother having a tournament, they would just declare HHH the World Series Champion. Is it too early to proclaim him the Stanley Cup winner too?
And you know, just a month ago I was always defending Trips on this board.

Hey BFG, believe it or not, Hockey still takes the cake for having the shortest off season.

I'll take the Angels in 7. Garret Anderson for MVP.

how??? the world series ends in november...by january players are in "winter league" getting ready...that's 2 months!!!

hockey ends in June...mid june...there's no games @ all in July and August, and the pre-season kicks in mid-September...

It's simple math really...

Baseball doesn't begin their spring training workouts until early February. Pitchers and catchers report early in the month, followed by the position players 2 weeks later. The Exhibition games begin in March, and the season starts in April.

Regardless, they are both very close in length of the off season. Hockey does have a shorter one, but it isn't as much of a difference as I originally thought.

I'm going off the fact that most players not considered to be superstars will be playing ball by mid-december or january...

but either way, the season isn't all that long for either sport...if the team doesn't lose...

I mean, in Chicago time must fly like a bitch

Whoaaaaa, there is way too much of a Canadian presence on this board to be dissing hockey my man!

You'll get Hansened before you know it.
I'm putting on the foil as we speak.

Hansened? I'm about to be lariated by a no-showing legend? Ouch. But what does foil, have to do with it, eh?
And, Mr. Stein, how do you know I ain't from the great white north?

Well, if you were from the Great White North (or, if you had male genetalia), you would know what I mean by putting on the foil.

And I'm assuming that Bone here is saying "Hansened" as in the Hansen brothers from the movie Slapshot, not Stan The Lariat.

(please tell me I'm right before I make a fool od myself.)

B-I-N-G-O

I didn't think that reference was too dated or obscure, what with Slaphot being one of the best movies ever. But, I guess I have to accept that some people aren't familiar with it.
